About Me

Welcome to my blog. My name is Terka and I am an ashtanga yoga student and teacher.

I’ve had been toying with the idea of creating my own blog for months. One of the main reasons for writing it was the simple fact that numerous people had questions and were interested in where I taught yoga. Equally curious were many people about vegan recipes, which I shared on Instagram. I decided to share it with all of you so that you have access to everything on my blog.

What is my blog about and what can you expect?

The blog will surely contain everything I love and enjoy from my heart. It includes three areas of interest – yoga, veganism and travel:

  • Yoga has become a defining aspect of my life since the past few years ago. I can no longer imagine my life without it and I would like to share my experiences with you.
  • Veganism, which will cover recipes for vegan foodies, information about vegan diet and also various vegan sports events.
  • Travel (mostly in connection with yoga), especially tips to places of interest that I have seen and which left a lasting impression on me.

My Way to Happiness

I am an adventurous girl from Moravia, who moved to Prague like most people to acquire an education. To support myself, whilst studying, I took up a job at a law office, where thinks can get quite hectic. Barely a few months into the routine, I developed back pain, problems with my eyesight, headaches and of course I gained weight. To add to it, I had my first experience of enormous stress. Back then, I had no capacity to change these things, but fortunately for me, I decided to try out a yoga class near my office. This proved to be a life changing experience for me and I got the first taste of what it meant to cure body & soul. The entire experience forced me to rethink my life, my connection with nature and step by step my health began to improve and my problems began to disappear. I started to become a yogini.

How can I describe it in three (or four) words?

I fell in love with yoga and I started practicing almost every day. It brought me a sense of well-being and relaxation. After two years of my own practice, I went to study yoga in India and started to teach yoga upon my return to Prague. Although I was a really nervous and the beginnings were very difficult for me, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing happy, smiling yogis leaving your lesson.

I must say, Ashtanga Yoga is undoubtedly my first choice. However I am also addicted to Acroyoga, which is a combination of pair acrobatics and yoga. It is an exercise that enhances strength, balance, and trust among partners. I also like Aero Yoga, Aerial Hoop and Aerial Silks (yes, I must have been a monkey in my past life, which is probably why I am so impressed by aerial activities :-)).

If you want to know where I teach, visit the Yoga lesson section.

I have been vegan for over 2 years, and since then, I feel healthier, I have more energy and strength and I feel overall so much better. The common misconception and comments such as “you will die soon because of a vitamin deficiency” will always make me laugh. These people usually go silent when I show them my sports achievements (I am also a member of the Vegan sports club, an association of vegan sportsmen from all kinds of sport sectors and many of them are top athletes).

These days, it’s easier to be a vegan than ever before. There is plenty of information available about vegan diet, you can find vegan products in almost every supermarket. I always smile when somebody is asking me: “and what do you eat when you are the vegan?” Honestly? Since I’ve become vegan, my diet is much more varied than ever before, and I even started eating some foods, which I did not like before, because their vegan form is much more delicious. I will share some of them with you here on the blog.

A wandering soul

Besides being a monkey in one of my past lives, I was definitely a nomad. Traveling fills my soul like yoga. I appreciate every minute spent in nature, no matter if it is in the forest, in the mountains or by the sea. I love the rustle of the tree leaves, the silent hush of the sea, the intoxicating fragrance of plants, the rays of sunshine or the wind, the feeling of freedom. I like getting to know new people from different cultures, learning their life stories.

I have a dream to travel around the wide world with my lovely man. And we want to share these experiences with you.
